Realisation of this retail project in Bamberg represents Multi Development’s first project in Bavaria, and will be a joint undertaking with the local Sparkasse (savings bank). The area to be developed is in the downtown area of the city between Franz-Ludwig-Straße, the central bus station and the Lange Straße.
For Multi Development Germany, this marks the first project in a city with a Unesco world cultural heritage status. In the lively and unmistakably unique city of Bamberg, Multi will create an old town district, which optimally enhances the city’s existing high quality shopping and leisure time appeal. The project in Bamberg will be characterised by a completely open-designed, small-sectioned and street-forming concept. Furthermore, the old part of Bamberg will benefit from new connecting footpaths.
The project will provide around 11,000 m² of new retail and gastronomic areas for about 40 units, on two sales levels. Additionally, attractive city apartments will be built on the upper floors.
Construction work is due to start in 2010 and the project is scheduled to open in the spring of 2012.

Gemeinsam mit der örtlichen Sparkasse wird Multi Development im Bamberg sein erstes Projekt in Bayern realisieren. Das zu entwickelnde Areal liegt in der direkten Innenstadt zwischen Franz-Ludwig-Straße/ Zentraler Busbahnhof sowie der Lange Straße.
Für Multi Development Germany ist es die erste Entwicklung in einer Stadt, die ein Unesco-Weltkulturerbe ist. Im vitalen und unverwechselbaren Bamberg wird Multi Development ein Altstadtquartier schaffen, das in hervorragender Weise die vorhandene hohe Einkaufs- und Aufenthaltsqualität verbessern wird. Charakteristisch auch für das Projekt in Bamberg wird ein völlig offen gestaltetes, kleinteiliges und straßenbildendes Konzept sein. Die Bamberger Altstadt wird so durch eine neue Wegebeziehung bereichert.
Das Projekt mit insgesamt 11.000 m² Nutzfläche wird über zwei Verkaufsetagen verfügen und neue Handels- und Gastronomieflächen für etwa 40 Mieteinheiten bieten. Darüber hinaus werden in den oberen Geschossen attraktive Stadtwohnungen entstehen. Der Baubeginn ist für 2010 geplant. Die Eröffnung ist im Frühjahr 2012 vorgesehen.
