In addition to the Forum Duisburg and Königsgalerie retail projects, Multi’s third large project in the inner city area of Duisburg is the Stadtfenster development. Multi Development plans the Stadtfenster to be built on a site situated on the Steinsche Gasse at the corner of the Münzstraße.
The site, currently occupied by the old Boecker department store, will, by the end of 2011, become home to the new city library and adult education centre, covering around 11,000 m². The project will include around 1,200 m² of retail space.
The site forms part of Lord Norman Foster’s master plan for Duisburg’s inner city area. The planning of the building takes up Foster’s ideas for the design of the public spaces in the Münzstrasse and Königstrasse area and represents the first implementation of a component from the framework of the master plan. Multi Development is investor and project developer.

Mit dem Stadtfenster Duisburg entsteht neben den Einzelhandelsprojekten Forum Duisburg und Königsgalerie das dritte große Multi-Projekt direkt in der Duisburger Innenstadt: Multi Development plant das Stadtfenster auf einem Areal an der Steinschen Gasse/Ecke Münzstraße.
Wo heute noch das alte Boecker-Kaufhaus steht, wird bis Ende 2011 der Neubau der Stadtbibliothek und Volkshochschule auf circa 11.000 m² errichtet. Das Gebäude soll ebenfalls das vom Rat der Stadt Duisburg beschlossene NS-Dokumentationszentrum aufnehmen. Ergänzend werden etwa 1.200 m² Einzelhandelsfläche entstehen.
Das Areal ist Bestandteil des Masterplans von Lord Norman Foster für die Duisburger Innenstadt. Die Planung des Gebäudes nimmt Fosters Ideen zur Gestaltung des öffentlichen Raumes im Bereich Münz- und Königstraße auf und stellt die erste Umsetzung im Rahmen des Masterplanes dar. Investor und Projektentwickler ist Multi Development.
